The Iranian head fake

Years ago when I started playing high school football, my couch used to scream: “Watch their stomachs, not their heads.” The same is probably true in basketball and soccer and a variety of other related sports; none of which I played. The principle seems to hold true for all competitive endeavors in life.  Humans look at the eyes of competitors as an almost automatic reflex since the eyes are the “gates to the soul.” We trust one another’s’ eyes to tell us the truth. Eyes don’t lie. But a movement of the head, however slight, can readily deceive us. Watch the stomach and not the head to see where your opponent is going.

Akin to this principle, is the tactic of diversion. You look left but go right. Mount an attack on the right after first starting a small skirmish on the left. Armies have been employing this trick since time immemorial. Funny thing though, everyone knows about this ploy. Certainly the generals of the world’s armies, and most certainly, the leaders and diplomats of the nations are very much of this stratagem.  Even as a young boy playing in the woods with friends, I would throw a rock as far from my position as possible to make them look where I was not.

All sorts of individuals in all sorts of executive positions have used all sorts of subterfuges to the same end…confuse your opponent. Lie, boast, bribe, blackmail, call for summit meetings and bang the war drums; it all works to create a tactical distraction. Sometimes all it takes to create “a crisis” is just to announce the invention of a new and terrifying weapon or the discovery of a new process. Sometimes, just the threat to cut off an energy source will work the same trick. What is the name of the game? Head fake your enemy!

Anybody want to venture a guess as to whether or not Iran is applying this tactic right now? Well let’s look at recent events. Last October, President Terrorist Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made a statement denying the holocaust and the western nations were outraged; never mind the Jews. Debates were held in the world’s capitals as to whether or not his statement was true.

Now, with the world enraged over this idiotic statement, Ahmadinejad further incites the west with announcements that he is out to destroy Israel. This is simply outrageous since Israel is a member nation of the U.N. and other members (at the moment) can’t allow this to happen. With the world now starting to pay attention, Terrorist Ahmadinejad now ratchets up the thermostat a notch more with an announcement a couple of weeks ago of the “successful” testing of a new rocket and a new, unstoppable torpedo.

Now, with the world getting nervous, Ahmadinejad announces the successful enrichment of uranium. To be sure, the enriched uranium was of a low level and produced by just a small number of centrifuges. The west is now in a tizzy. U.N. emergency sessions are being held day and night. Russia, China, and France want meeting after meeting to defuse the situation by getting Iran to agree to stop its’ nuclear program. Word “leaks” out that the U.S. and/or Israel is planning a military strike. The world is in…. CRISIS. We must get Iran to cease and desist. After months or talks and delay, the Iranians may even agree to do this. Whew! The world is relieved. The U.N. has worked another miracle.

Now, stop watching the midsection. Here comes the head fake! According to recent reports in Debka (Debka.com) President Ahmadinejad has a top-secret plant being built designed to utilize 155,000 centrifuges. This, it is understood, is enough to enrich uranium in quantity sufficient to produce “3-5 nuclear bombs a year.”

Were you watching? I wonder if our leaders and our allies’ leaders have been paying attention. While we get bent out of shape over a small lab with only 164 centrifuges producing a small amount of low-level uranium, the Iranians are building a large, underground manufacturing plant while we are looking the other way. Great strategy! Hello world…wake up; stop watching the diversion. Don’t procrastinate.

Do not allow the Iranians to stall for time. The time to take decisive action is NOW! It is guestimated that this secret plant should be completed by October and “scheduled to be on line at the end of 2007.” Apparently, it takes 54,000 centrifuges to enrich enough uranium to produce a nuclear device in only 16 days. In Neyshabour, Iran where apparently this new installation is being built, enough material can be produced to manufacture 9-15 nuclear bombs per year.

Is this what Iran had in mind when they assured the world they only wanted to develop nuclear technology for peace? YOU BET! They want a piece of …Israel, and, the bigger the piece, the better. The fanatical president of Iran seems to think that with enough nuclear bombs, he will be able to “wipe Israel off the map.”

I think, I should mention, that the State of Israel does not appear on maps in Moslem countries. The cost in death and destruction by way of retaliation to Iran and the other Arab countries, should Ahmadinejad actually us a bomb is apparently of no concern to him. Yes, a crisis is brewing but it’s not the one we’re looking at now that’s the problem. It’s the one being built in Neyshabour.

World, act Now! Don’t wait for Iran to join the other nuclear nations. Ahmadinejad says he will use “whatever it takes” to destroy Israel and bring ruination to others in the non-Moslem world. Believe him. Destroy this madman’s capabilities Now. To paraphrase:  “A bomb in time, saves nine!”
