Victorian Liberal Party becomes the Dhimmi Party

The intolerant Islamic Council of Victoria uses Bracks’ Blasphemy law to relentlessly persecute two Christian pastors for the crime — and it is a crime in this state — of quoting accurately from the Koran, and the Liberal Party goes mute — until now. Andrew Robb, the federal member for the Victorian seat of Goldstein and recently appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, has just expressed outrage at religious persecution.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that he thinks it’s the poor old Muslim that getting the rough end of the pineapple. Yeah, and I’m Shirley Temple. What in hell’s name is going on here? The Islamic Council of Victoria conspired with May Helou, a Muslim bigot, and the leftwing Diane Sisely, both of whom were on the Orwellian Equal Opportunity Committee, to persecute to the point of destruction two pastors for the crime of drawing attention to certain passages in the Koran, and the Libs say nothing.

This is a shocking conspiracy that needs to be investigated by a parliamentary committee. And what is Andrew Robb’s response to this vile abuse of power? He has the bloody gall to demand that Julian Sheezel should take a leaf from the Islamic Council and take “appropriate action” against members of the Brighton branch for distributing copies of the Danish cartoons of Mohammed.

So what does Sheezel do? He allows himself to be bullied by this political bimbo in to counselling the Brighton branch president. That’s right, folks, Sheezel took them to the woodshed so as to prevent, as he put it, this “offensive material” from being circulated again, as if supporting free speech was a symptom of a mental disorder that requires treatment.

(It seems that Robb and Sheezel need to be reminded of the grim fact that it was sadistic Muslim thugs who tortured Ilan Halimi to death and that it was an intolerant Islamic brute that butchered Theo van Gogh and not some insensitive Liberal. And it was not fundamentalist Christians who planned to kidnap and rape a Danish cartoonist’s school-age daughter but Muslim fanatics).

As irony would have it, just as Sheezel and Robb were applying the oh so tolerant Islamic principle of Dhimmism to loyal Liberal Party activists the Jyllands-Posten, the Dutch paper that published the offensive cartoons, was publishing the Together Facing the New Totalitarianism, an anti-Islamofascist manifesto defending free speech.

A dozen intellectuals signed it, including Bernard-Henri Lévy, Irshad Manji and Salman Rushdie. At the same time National Review Online published the Muslim Manifesto: this was produced by Zeyno Baran and Mustafa Akyol, both of whom are moderate Muslims.

And what does Australia get? The Dhimmi twins Robb and Sheezel.

Instead of pandering to Muslim bigotry Robb and “Iron Man” Sheezel should be savaging Bracks for trying to buy Muslim votes by suppressing criticism of Islam. Instead Robb gives us fabricated outrage in the hope of winning Muslim support (has this clown ever heard of Lakemba and Cronulla?) and the weak-kneed Sheezel plays along with him.

When The Australian slimed Pope John Paul II by accusing him of spreading aids in Africa and of killing unfortunate women (Rosemary Neill, A Catholic culture of death, 7 May 2005) did Robb speak out? Not on your life. Did he tell The Australian that it should be “sensitive” towards Catholic feeling? No way. (Incidentally, The Australian was too cowardly to publish the Mohammed cartoons). When the mephitic Age continued to publish Leunig’s foul anti-Semitic cartoons where was the heroic Mr Robb? Nowhere to be found. And neither was Sheezel.

But when members of his own branch stand up for free speech by distributing these mild cartoons Andrew “The Dhimmi” Robb demands their heads. Why? It isn’t Catholics, Jews, Baptists, Sikhs, Buddhists, Presbyterians, etc., who are demanding that Australians should have their fundamental rights curbed — it’s Islamic bigots, and that dolt Robb is going along for the ride. It is patently evident that Robb lacks intellectual depth and is utterly devoid of any historical perspective.

Let me make this so clear that even someone as short-sighted and dense as Robb can grasp it: It is the role of the state to defend our rights. The state can neither grant rights nor create them. Those who think otherwise are confusing rights with privileges. The right of free speech means the right to offend and sensitivity be damned. It’s that simple. If offence is not allowed then there can be no free speech.

If Robb had half the intelligence he thinks he has he would know this. He should also know that common law (which the devious Bracks’ is slowly dismantling) recognises that rights are not absolute, including the right of free speech. That, Mr Robb, is why we have libel laws.

If Robb was capable of genuine intellectual and moral clarity he would have told the Muslim leaders he consulted with that in Australia freedom of speech will never be curbed to spare the feelings of any religious or political group. Moreover, he would have stressed the point by telling them that if they cannot tolerate our laws and customs they should damn well leave. So what did he do? He behaved like a Quisling.

Robb’s dangerous delusion is that he thinks multiculturalism is beneficial instead of being a socially destructive political dogma that could have stygian consequences for the country. (Just think of the recent Muslim riots in Paris and the London bombings). He and his ilk are blind to the fact that calls to be “sensitive” and exercise “self-restraint” are viewed by Islamo-fascists as signs of weakness.

I truly think it’s time someone injected Robb with a good dose of reality — if that’s possible.

Note: Liberals for Free Speech has been set up by Party members to do what the likes of Robb adamantly refuse to do and that is defend our rights.
