Dems are so crooked they couldn't even lie straight in bed

There is something particularly comical in seeing one of the Democrats' leading liberals self-righteously adopt the mantle of aggressive patriotism, as did Donna Brazile in What Would Scoop Do? (WSJ May 21, 2003). She begins with the admission that the Democrats had given "short shrift to security issues." This was an indirect way of saying that the party had ignored the country's national security.

(One should note that this was said as if she herself had always been deeply concerned with national security. So concerned is she with defending American that she, like the rest of her friends, adamantly opposes a national missile defence system).

She then retells (or is it rewrites?) the party's glorious history in leading the country through two world wars, and the Korean War, as if the Republicans had not supported their country in time of war. Strangely enough the Cold War was the one conflict she neglected to mention.

For nearly 50 years the US led the free world against Soviet imperialism. Yet Brazile manages to overlook one of the most important conflicts in human history. Why? Because after the extreme left — she dishonestly calls it the "peace wing" — invaded the Democratic Party in 1972 the party all but surrendered to the Soviets.

The so-called "peace wing" — actually a bunch of America-hating lefties — sold out South Vietnam to the communist north causing the deaths of millions and awful suffering for many millions more. Under Carter, not only did the Soviets make significant strategic gains they came close to establishing client states in El Salvador and Nicaragua with the tacit support of the Carter administration and the open support of many Democrats. While all this was going on the patriotic Brazile never once uttered a word of warning or protest.

Only when Reagan was elected was the tide turned. Despite vicious opposition from the Soviets' Democratic friends he resolutely and successfully resisted the communist takeover of Central America and communist subversion in the Caribbean. But best of all, he spent the Soviet Union into political oblivion. And while Reagan was changing history and ridding us of a monstrous totalitarian curse, the patriotic Democrats were constantly braying at his heels, doing what they could to bring him down.

Despite the Democrats' appeasement policies Brazile has the chutzpah to argue that the party has always stood "up to dictators and terrorists." Yeah, baby. I suppose that explains why Clinton, Brazile's pinup boy, refused the Sudan's offer of taking bin Laden into custody. If he had done so there would have been no 9/11.

Brazile is one damn good reason not to vote Democrat. She is a race-baiting thug who has never expressed the slightest interest in defending the US. Let us not forget that she referred to Republicans as those "white boys" and called Colin Powell and J. C. Watts "Uncle Toms" for having the gall to think for themselves instead of joining the Dems political plantation.

Political spite and vindictiveness are a way of life for Democrats like Brazile. Last year she was asked to say something positive about Reagan three days before his birthday. Her response: "Big spender, deficit spender. And that's what he'll be remembered as," completely ignoring the fact that it was a Democratic controlled Congress that massively increased spending.

Moreover, the patriotic Brazile (how is that for an oxymoron) refused to acknowledge that it was Reagan's military build up that finally vanquished the Soviet empire. And Reagan did this in the face of ferocious opposition from the Democrats — the party that has always stood "up to dictators and terrorists."

In an email exchange with Brookes' economics editor, Gerry Jackson, he explained to me that "hate and malice is what defines the left." He could have been writing about Brazile.
